Essentially Amsterdam Business

Friday 9 October 2026 · covers Thu 8 Oct to Fri 9 Oct

Good morning. HighBrook buys the De Bary canal houses on the Gouden Bocht, the Ondernemingskamer clears the way for OCI to leave the Amsterdam exchange, and the Oostbrug over the IJ slips again.

THE SIGNAL

HighBrook buys on the Gouden Bocht and sells in Oost

HighBrook Investors, together with other investors, has bought the De Bary office complex at Herengracht 448 to 458 and Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 2 to 2a from an institutional investor. The complex is six monumental canal houses on the Gouden Bocht.

On the same day, PropertyNL reported that HighBrook had sold its 1,500 m2 office building at Hoogte Kadijk 143 to 145 to an investor. That building will be let again after renovation.

Also on 8 October, an Amsterdam company called De Bary Owner NL B.V., at Stadhouderskade 85, received a Legal Entity Identifier. The records do not say whether it is linked to the deal.

Why it matters: one investor is selling a renovation office in Oost and buying historic canal offices in the same week, so it is clearly choosing which Amsterdam offices to own.
